For sufficient safety, comfort and convenience for your baby, it’s important to compare high chairs.
A high chair is the place where most babies and toddlers eat all of their meals and play with small toys or crafts. It has many uses so it’s extremely important that it is safe for the baby to be in and is convenient for you to use.
When getting ready to make a purchase, there are three different aspects you need to look at; convenience, safety, and comfort. Of course the design, colors, and general “look” can be important as well; however, safety should always come before the style!
First, let’s focus on convenience. Depending on how you plan to use your high chair, you may have different needs. For instance, for someone who plans on leaving it in one spot all the time, they wouldn’t need much convenience. On the other hand, for someone who has company over or visits friends and would need to take it along, well I’m sure you can imagine that they would need much more convenience.
In addition to portability convenience, it helps to have a high chair which can be easily altered to accommodate a growing child. If you have one which fits children about the size of a 6-month baby, then what happens when the child is 2 years old and needs a new place to sit? Many chairs have adjustable heights so when comparison shopping, be sure to look for that!
Safety is a second aspect to consider when you’re trying to decide on your selection. Look for a 5-point harness for your child to be comfortably secured.
Also, make sure you stay up to date on high chair recalls. Sometimes recalls can happen because of failed locking mechanisms, or they just collapse, which would be very unsafe.
Lastly, take a look at comfort. After all, babies are hard enough to feed, as it is—so just imagine if they weren’t comfortable because then they wouldn’t even want to sit!
If you think about these tips when going to compare high chairs, I am confident that you will find one perfect for your needs, the baby’s need, and everyone’s overall happiness.
